Wrong, You were using Xray. I witnessed you mine diamonds out that were 3-4 blocks above your position. There were also were also other spots where logblock indicated you had clearly xrayed.

Sounds as if you could gain 10 levels easy, store them, then gain another 10 levels without the hardship of going from (lets say) lv10-20. As in, sounds like an easy way to farm exp.
