Oatmeal Doozy Treats

1 cup/250 ml butter or margarine, softened/room temperature
1 ¾ cup/337.5 ml* white sugar
1 tsp/5 ml molasses (or 1 cup brown sugar and remove 3/4 cup white sugar) Blackstrap is best, if you wanna grow up a MAN! Or a Newf.
2 eggs
1 tsp/5 ml vanilla
1 cup/250 ml all purpose flour
1 cup/250 ml whole wheat flour
1 tsp/5 ml baking soda
1 tsp/5 ml baking powder
½ tsp/2.5 ml salt
1 ¾ cup/337.5 ml rolled oats
1 cup/250 ml each walnuts, chocolate chips, raisins, or other, up to 3 cups

Cream fat, sugar, and molasses until thoroughly mixed. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift flours, baking soda and powder, and salt into mix and combine. Stir in oatmeal and nuts etc.

Drop onto cookie sheets by spoonfuls. Bake 375 Fahrenheit/190 Celsius, 13 minutes per tray (ish) depending on size of cookies, until slightly golden. Allow to cool slightly, and lift off tray with flat utensil such as hard spatula.

Makes about 3 dozen, if you don’t eat too much batter.

You can also make this with all white flour, just use slightly less, if you don't want to pretend to be healthy. Whole wheat has less gluten and requires less wet stuff, so white makes a drier cookie unless you adjust accordingly.

*I put that shit in millilitres for you Europeans. I hope you appreciate it! I had to do MATH! And use a CALCULATOR! I'm too old for this.

1 cup fine crushed chocolate wafer crumbs

1: melt chocolate
2: mix stuff in
3: put in fridge till firm enough to roll into balls
4: roll into balls about 1 inch and roll in crumbs, icing sugar, sprinkles, whatever to coat
5: keep in fridge, or belly
