I was at spawn looking around and I broke a honeypot block and was immediately banned, I would like to be unbanned because I only broke it out of curiosity, you put random ores in a wall of a seemingly noob built house by the spawn, I got curious and decided to check if it was protected, I broke it and was almost immediately banned. I think that honeypots, while being fairly effective against griefers who come on and break the first thing they see, are not fair to people who like playing on the server and get curious.
Thanks,
candreasen

You broke the construction of what was not yours. Regardless of curiosity or not you intended to take those blocks. Greifing is greifing.

You've been here long enough to know you can check for a region protection without breaking blocks. And drag is correct. Breaking things that aren't yours is griefing, no excuses.

I understand it wasn't right but, its so small of a thing that I wish there was a way I could make it up.

Yeah, we have honeytrap blocks.

You have to trigger three of them, actually, to get banned.

[2012-08-19 17:05:27] player candreasen broke HoneyPot block at {world=world, x=7735, y=69, z=3882}, break count/points: 2 (blockId 14: GOLD_ORE)
[2012-08-19 17:05:28] player candreasen broke HoneyPot block at {world=world, x=7735, y=69, z=3883}, break count/points: 3 (blockId 74: GLOWING_REDSTONE_ORE)

Apology accepted.
