Admin Store

Post by Jamieker »

Reasons an admin shop would help more than hurt the server.

Pros: -Deflate currency to a more substantial rate
-Lower over-inflated goods prices to a desired price
-Encourage lower shop prices all across the board
-entice people with more money to buy things to reduce money in the market
-Cause large jump in spending
-Give the newer player a chance to get money and start in the shop market
-Provide a place for advertisement with even larger amounts of traffic than nssc, give the smaller shop an even better chance

Cons: -Flood market with goods
-Increase mob farming
-Give large scale stores a harder time to make quick money

I personally do believe this would help deflate and reduce currency out there, it would also stop the wondering for hours asking everyone if they have seen a good deal on "this" or "that".

If you see this tread and agree then, please post here and even add onto the ideas. Thank you for considering,

Yeah, it would probably work.
Mainly because it would limit the price of certain items, like diamonds.

Hmm.... Seems like a good idea, but the increased mob farms sounds like a lagfest. I'd push for it.

We could eliminate player shops altogether and go with barter. :P

What would the pence be worth then?

I was thinking of talking to rob about making an admin shop run casino (or some other form of mechanic that doesn't pay out to anyone in particular) that could help draw money into.
Hey guys! Click this! If you like Dawn of War I make maps for it and post stuff about it there!

Look up the definition of barter.

(it means no pence, pence gone, have to trade items in person, never be rich again)

I've been servers that use barter instead of money; I find it incredibly frustrating to trade.

Usually, diamonds become a 'de facto' currency. But both players have to be online, and you have to physically transfer stuff around, and it's easy to lose it if you die.. it adds huge overhead to an economic transaction, so people only do the bare minimum. New players basically can't participate because old players never sell things.
