Fail Update?

Post by Tiel424 »

Yo. I was on earlier and I left to go buy some milk and donut holes. I was booted, and now the server does not work. One of my theories is that most of you get that grayscreen (bluescreen's cousin) after logging in. If that is the case try CTRL+ALT+DEL. It should work. If that's not the problem, then what the **** is going on? :mobcreeper:

I think notchs server cant handle that many people downloading the update and logging in so its down till he solved it.
Hm, he should upgrade his server before he release the next version. (And it was an update nobody has needet, just little improvements)

the update today kinda messed up the servers for a couple reasons.
-one, i think the update might have some bugs
-two, the servers are overloaded with people trying to update the first saturday secret update
-three, something other than what I think...

I got that grey screen too. Had to restart my computer, the bad way. So for now im just gonna lay off trying and find something else to do other than staring at the wall untill this is fixed :P

It'd be good if notch used a torrent updater. Saves a lot of bandwidth/money.

It probably sucks a little because a lot of people get partially through the download and fail, which means people aren't FINISHING, so they continue to hammer the server.

ok, first of all, if you get the "Gray screen" error, DON'T PRESS ANYTHING, except ALT+F4, if you are on windows 7. Anyway, I managed to update minecraft, after
it failed, I just waited a few minutes and tried again. It's working again now :)
