maintenance downtime

Post by rbos »

on this week's friday maintenance window..

I can remove entity objects right now (see http://github.com/codewarrior0/pymclevel/) so I'll be removing all minecarts from the world map on the next downtime, in addition to removing all railways, until they work properly. The hope for this is that'll help with FPS lag and crash bugs in certain areas, notably firstspawn.

I'm also going to investigate stuffing in a floating island biome, but don't get your hopes up. Possibly a cavern map that I have lying around leftover from multiplayer creative. :)

Plus a few road extensions. I might put them in manually, or just experiment with automating the procedure (I can do that now).

Could you replace blocks in a 90x90(x10 down) around this locataion

Coordinates Middle;
Pos x=-3916.542347736133 y=65.0 Z 76.58764149230375
Rotation x= -1508.0335 y=58.00232
Compass S(202.2)

Already thanks for the possible help :D

Okay:

* /warp skyland
* some new roads
* edited Zacky's area
* removed fire blocks from -4k,-4k .. 4k,4k
* removed rail blocks from -4k,-4k .. 4k,4k (or something like that, might be 3k)
* removed spawner blocks from -1k,-1k .. 1k,1k

Now, to upload the map back. :( This might take a while.

The map upload will probably take an hour or so, I'm going to head downtown for dinner. I have a computer lab over there I can use to check in and restart it with. I hope it's open, anyway. Not sure.

If the lab isn't open, I expect to be home at 19:00 PST, most likely. Which is 2.5 hours from now.

Still uploading at 5:30. Lab closes at 6, so I'll have to do it when I get home.

Well, it's up, but minecraft.net isn't. Joy!

I might as well set Overviewer to rendering the new chunks then, long as we're not expecting anyone to log in. :P

It'll probably be a day or so before there's an updated server map!
