I did set it to use the compass to search instead of the default.

So this treasure hunt... one just looks for a chest at a certain area?

I have already found a few chests myself, but I was wondering if the compass was meant to actually point towards the chest? Because it doesnt for me :/

Nah, it doesnt.

I don't like the way a lot of the chests are in the jungle because:
1. I can't bring them back to the normal world
2. They usually contain stuff like vines
3. They are a pain to get in there with no real reward

Not complaining just giving my opinion.

You're right, jungle chests should feel more rewarding considering the PvP enviroment.
