bdw is the minecraft server at novylen.net down? it says connection refused

had the same problem... download it manually form minecraft.net and it works.

finally got it to update...heres the trick...delete the minecraft file and redownload it...

Re-download minecraft.jar if you have trouble - I think you need to do that to get the files from the new data source at Amazon's cloud service.
