we should make a world were you spawn at first login, were you are told all the rules, and how to do certain stuff, kinda like what was being made at spawn, but players would have to go through it, then at the end, players would be told to type "/spawn" to be taken to the actual world.

so what do you think?

Good idea and bad idea.
I think its a good idea because it will prevent people asking dumb questions (if they read the rules etc they wouldn't have to ask them)
Bad thing is the players what know how a SMP server also need to do it, and they know most of the things already. (I think.)

Epic, because you have to type /spawn at the end, the people who already know all these can be told that they can type /spawn at the beginning..

Solution: Read rules at spawn or get a /rules plugin.

Cubeville.org has something like this, so that might be worth checking out?

I forsee many questions being asked....namely, "how do I get out of here waaaaaaaah" or "where can i build?! waaaaaaah"

there was a server i was on before and the spawn was a block in the sky and the only to leave was to tp or go through a 1x2hallway with slow sand and signs so u were forced to read the signs before leaving

I think tutorials should be not for rules, but for plugins. I didn't know how to use runecraft till someone used it and I watched them!

Save time for others, less spam for questions I think it's a good way!
NOTE: Make the room optional in spawn, so people don't HAVE to use it.
