Can an admin* tell me the nether rules?

I asked Snowyfire through /msg if he wanted to go to the nether for glowstone and looting. <-- Epic way of telling him I'm going to slaughter him.
So I got some glowstone, saw snowy at the nether gate, killed him, and took his loot. Snowy started crying to me and called me a ---k ----ing ---k face. Nwalton logged in, and asked him if he could calm down snowy.
I guess walton came under the impression that I didn't tell him I was going to loot him. So, under walton's orders, I gave Snowyfire's loot back. (I'm not at all upset about that).
Mrepic had said that grieving was allowed in the nether, so I assumed it was anarchy.
So could I have an admins say on these nether rules? As it seems the moderators have mixed ideas of certain rules.
Heck, Walton now thinks I'm a thief.
<nwalton>: just give him back the stuff that you stole

<nwalton>: Epacity stole for*
