I was wondering if there is a way to record the amount of users online hourly. and if so then is it possible to show on the website. to know the peak hours and stuff. because around 6:00pm (-5 GMT) the server is almost always full. so i would like to know when its at a moderate level like 7.

It is possible to display these things using "server trackers". An expample of one of these is Game-Monitor. I dont exacly know how to make it work with independant servers, but I bet rbos could figure that out :)

Yeah, I could add an MRTG graph for that. Thought about it a couple times in fact. I'm pretty bored in class, might do that now..

That data isn't logged, so I'd have to install a plugin to record the statistics.

I installed the Stats plugin last week (for achievements) but it doesn't give users logged in as a statistic. So there's still no easy way to graph this.

What about a graph of block edit data?

It isn't quite the same, but it would give a general indication of activity.

Oh, right..

I usually use MRTG bandwidth use to judge peak hours. Really, that's the important number.

http://novylen.net/mrtg - "breadbowl" is the graph for the server mc.novylen.net is on.

I guess I could put up average users, but bandwidth use is the more important figure for me.

As you can see, Minecraft uses a lot of traffic, something like 15-20k per user.
