Nether Spawn?

Basically, I did /spawn in the nether, carrying all of my armour, food, enchanted weapons/tools and music disks, and I ended up inside a load of rocks, unable to dug my way out because the area is protected... Firstly, could this be sorted out please, and secondly, could I have my stuff returned by any chance please?

Hmm, I have made an odd discovery... I have a strange theory that there may well be two nethers! When I /dial nether, then do /spawn, I end up at the nether gate... However, when I go through the netherportal at /dial Avalon, then do /spawn, I end up in that same hole again!
This has got me fairly stumped :S

Spawn was just wrong.

Did the old nether get deleted?
