Hm, whenever people log in and render the starting area..
Code: Select all

Looks like we need to figure something out. I'll try to avoid a rollback.

Hm, was this from 30 minutes ago? Would it help if we told you the errors we got?
Any fix?

I'm downloading the map, and plan to a) save-reload the chunks near the spawn, b) recalculate the game lighting, c) load it into single-player mode and run around a bit. I'll see what happens.
If I can find the offending chunk I'll remove it. I think this is the same thing that happened last time, and I have some better tools.
Unfortunately I can't just roll back - backups have been broken for a few days. Rolling back the spawn area would suck a little. Not a lot, though. Assuming it is the spawn area, and someone's /warp isn't doing it.

Quite....interesting, I'd presume.

The map has sure seen a lot of changes since I last sync'd it to my desktop. Still downloading chunks.

Week or so, I guess.
Map is 954 megabytes now. O_o.

Not too zealous, now are we?
You'd think the map would stay the same size since all people should do is move blocks around all day.
But such is life. A gigabyte of map isn't too bad. But just think of the weeks to come ._.

Statistically a map should look like a log function, flattening out over time, as people are only willing to travel a certain distance away from the origin. I'm not too worried. The size will only jump when I move the spawn, as it did this last week.
At any rate, the map seems okay, I loaded it up in SMP without issues.
I'm doing some map edits now, I should have it up in a half hour or so.
