20:16 <rtortore_> Sorry OK back
20:20 <rbos> oh hey, anything happening there or was there just a big hiccup
20:20 <rtortore_> Nope - they came out to tell me "there is no problem"
20:20 <rtortore_> So the guy took out his laptop to "show" me ...
20:20 <rtortore_> Plugged it in directly to the modem, using his cable
20:20 <rtortore_> and BLAMO - horrid ping time when he was uploading
20:20 <rbos> lovely
20:21 <rbos> I am amused
20:21 <rtortore_> to which he said, well .. I told them you knew what you were talking about
20:21 <rtortore_> he replaced the cable (temporarily) to the outside throug the garage to the modem .. ie EVERYTHING is now
Shaw (all calbine connectors and their laptop
20:21 <rtortore_> still horrile lag
20:21 <rbos> say wheeeee
20:21 <rbos> -say
20:22 <rtortore_> he is convinced that the problem lies outside the road down to the gateway as he even replaced the cable
(last time he was here ... unbeknownst to me) from the road to the box outside the house
20:22 <rtortore_> In other words I have brand new wiring from the road to the modem , and everything has been replaced
20:23 <rtortore_> so ... he is going to his manager/foreman and telling them that it isn't the csutomer it is our (shaw) fault
20:23 <rbos> huzzah
20:23 <rbos> two weeks later, we've convinced them we're not crazy!

Well, the next step is for the technician to go to them and convince them there's an actual problem.
