New users will now have to answer an intelligence-testing question before they can create an account. This should stop cold the spam we've been getting.
Hint: the answer is 'pumpkin'.

Did you enable captcha or simply leap straight to this. Because some spammers are human and can circumvent this once again. You can ban them, sure, but more keep on pouring in until you have 30 different spammers cluttering the forum. Taking into consideration how easily 'pissed off' you can be, that can become a real hassle.

CAPTCHA ceased to be useful for more than the stupidest bots a few years ago. The question method isn't bad.
