A "chat" feature for the forum?

since minecraft tends to go "down" a-lot, i think it would be nice to have a chat feature in the forums so people who can't login can still talk to each other. please

Yeah, I was going to suggest an IRC channel. Even without server downtime it'd be nice to have actual conversations with people, minecraft chat is pretty rubbish.

There are some website addons that do have a chat feature. Im not exacly sure how to add em to a website like this (since the addon is used for webs.com)
There must be some easy way to make a chat bar or something here.

PS You know you british (or something of sorts) if you use the word "rubbish" :)
