I've spoken with my server guy and we've narrowed the problem down to the Shaw Internet connection. They agree with us, and are sending a tech down to check it out. They're speculating that there may actually be a line fault on the buried cable. :/
For now, lag seems to operate on a minute-bad, minute-good basis, so if it's laggy, just ride it out, it'll be good again in a few minutes. Apparently.
But don't count on that. :/

The guy was supposed to arrive at 4, but as of 5:30 he's not arrived yet; Shaw support says he'll still arrive sometime tonight but has no ETA as they can't contact him.
